6 registrars we recommend

This is a short, curated list, not a complete directory of every registrar out there. These are the ones we would happily point a first-time buyer to, compared on the things that actually cost you money over time. We compare each registrar’s own published pricing and terms rather than testing them hands-on. For a fuller discussion, see the best registrar guide.

How to read these prices

  • Prices are indicative bands, checked against each registrar’s own pricing page in Jul 2026. Always confirm the live number before you buy.
  • The renewal price matters more than the first-year promo. That is the price you pay every year after the first.
  • Newer extensions like .io renew far higher than .com.
  • A small ICANN fee of about $0.20/yr applies to most gTLDs (usually baked into the price shown).
